Esta semana fue el Día Mundial del Síndrome de Deficiencia del Transportador de Glucosa tipo 1 (GLUT1), un desorden genético  causado por una mutación en el gen que regula la proteína que transportar glucosa al cerebro. Si bien no existe una terapia farmacológica eficaz para tratar esta enfermedad, la implementación de la dieta cetogénica mostró ser efectiva en la gran mayoría de los casos.
